Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi
The Grand Mosque or the Sheikh Zayed Mosque is named after the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder and the first President of the UAE, who is also buried there. It is considered to be one of the largest mosques in the world. The other world record this mosque holds is for the largest chandelier. The Mosque is large enough to accommodate more than 30,000 worshipers. It is completely clad in marble and featuring intricate Islamic decoration and carvings.
